Leap29 - VP of Transmission and Interconnection Leap29 is currently assisting a client in the search for a VP of Transmission and Interconnection in the U.S. We are looking for a skilled leader in utility-scale transmission and interconnection to help expand greenfield renewable energy projects across the US. Job Responsibilities: Lead a team of utility scale renewable energy developers through regional injection capacity analysis and interconnection processes. Collaborate with the Chief Development Officer (CDO) to implement strategies for greenfield projects. Foster relationships with ISOs, RTOs, transmission service providers, and industry experts. Oversee interconnection studies, provide strategic advice, and manage project timelines. Supervise technical evaluations of project equipment and engage in internal procedure development. Conduct due diligence on potential renewable energy project acquisitions. Ensure transparent reporting on project statuses. Evaluate new software tools for project analysis. Requirements: Over 12 years of high voltage interconnection experience, with at least 4 years in a management role. Proficient in SPP, MISO, ERCOT, PJM, WECC power markets. Skilled in managing internal teams and external consultants for interconnection efforts. Recent experience in interconnection design and modeling. Ability to cultivate strong relationships and demonstrate leadership qualities. Capable of working efficiently across disciplines and time zones.
