International Energy company is seeking a Business Development Manager who will spearhead the development of new utility-scale renewable energy projects from initial identification through to the commencement of construction. This role is crucial for advancing the company’s goals in the renewable energy sector and requires close collaboration with the Vice President of the Renewable Energy Division. Key Responsibilities: Identify and evaluate prospective utility-scale renewable energy projects, ensuring suitable electric transmission access and site characteristics. Build and maintain relationships with key market players, including developers and independent power producers, to source potential projects. Oversee the project pipeline, regularly providing detailed progress reports. Perform financial analyses and modeling to assess project viability. Monitor power market trends and regulatory developments affecting the sector. Develop and manage financial strategies for projects, including structuring tax equity arrangements. Lead project development activities, driving projects to shovel-ready status. Coordinate project development efforts across internal teams, aligning activities with project timelines and budgets to optimize efficiency. Liaise with contractors and consultants to facilitate necessary studies and preparations in collaboration with external advisors. Attend and provide detailed minutes for meetings with financial, tax, and insurance advisors. Travel Requirements: 10% – 30% Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree. At least 5 years of relevant business development, or other relevant experience Experience of transactions for finance arrangement for renewable energy project. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of financial arrangements such as tax equity and project finance. Preferred Qualifications: Over 8 years in a business development role with significant exposure to project finance. Self-motivated with strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proven track record of managing multiple transactions in the renewable energy sector. Behavioral Skills: Highly detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities. Independent and self-motivated, capable of adapting to changing environments.
