The ideal candidate will have 10 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing Engineering and Project Management processes, tools, and methods that enhance our service delivery to clients. Additionally, this role will provide valuable mentorship to less experienced engineers while leading a range of multidisciplinary projects. The candidate will also interface with clients and contribute to proposal development as needed. Responsibilities Leads the civil engineering discipline in developing and maintaining efficient design standards and procedures, including master details and specifications. Responsible for managing utilization goals for the civil engineering team. Works with engineers and project managers to ensure that project budgets are met and adjusts work plans to keep projects within budget. Consults with HR before all hiring and termination actions. Assists the Marketing team in preparing reports, proposals, and presentations, and engages with prospective clients. Collaborates with the Senior Engineer or Project Manager to develop conceptual designs that meet client requirements. Manages multiple civil engineering projects as needed. Reviews project work at key milestones to ensure technical quality while maintaining an efficient design process. Mentors team members and assists the department in meeting technical quality standards. Supports the Senior Engineer or Project Manager in producing technical documents as appropriate. Evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of engineering disciplines and establishes plans to maintain the appropriate level of technical expertise for each project. Develops and leads training programs that enhance the technical skills necessary to meet the firm's market goals. Utilizes strong people management and communication skills to foster a collaborative team environment. May be required to work beyond typical hours as project requirements and company needs dictate. Develops and maintains positive relationships with customers and clients to encourage repeat business. Updates and maintains a body of knowledge related to training, qualifications, or job responsibilities. Completes assigned work on time and within budget constraints. Adheres to and enforces company policies and procedures. Qualifications BS in Civil Engineering or a related field (Advanced Degree, such as a Master’s or PhD, is preferred). PE or P.Eng certification is required. 10 years of relevant leadership experience. Knowledge and experience in power and renewable energy. Project Management experience with a proven track record of project delivery. Strong technical knowledge and expertise in civil engineering practices. Proficiency in engineering design software platforms (such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and others). Ability to work well in a team environment with a positive attitude, multi-tasking skills, and a self-motivated approach to producing high-quality work. A desire to learn and grow professionally. Additional Information Many factors are considered when determining compensation at Pond, including scope and level of position, geographic location, candidate skill, knowledge and experience. Starting base pay may vary depending on these factors. We anticipate filling this position as a Director of Civil Engineering with a salary range of $117,400.00 - $189,500.00.
