Future projects and opportunities include working collaboratively with regional and community stakeholders on building decarbonization, electric green tariffs, multifamily and rental property energy disclosure, development of community EV charging infrastructure and protecting, preserving and growing our urban forest canopy and protecting our surface waters. Duties and Responsibilities Develops programs and projects that support the city’s climate action plan and develops climate related policy Develops programs and projects that support the city’s Urban Forest program Manages the surface water environmental compliance programs Engages with the community on climate, urban forestry, environmental compliance and natural resources related programs and presents information to City Council Provides support for the development of the city’s natural Resources programs Manages the city’s natural resources team. Job Specifications Required Education, Training and Experience (Any combination of education and experience that has provided the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential duties of this position. Prior paid or unpaid work experience and educational requirements listed are typical ways of obtaining the required qualifications.) Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a degree in environmental science, environmental studies, natural resource management, renewable energy, urban or regional planning or other closely related field; AND Three (3) years of experience in climate action planning or sustainability, with an emphasis on public outreach including one year of supervisor or leadership experience; OR Any equivalent combination of education and experience.
