Glendale’s next Senior Electrical Engineer will bring engineering judgment and skills to system controls, power plant maintenance & upgrade projects, ensuring reliability & safety, while innovating to preserve low-cost electrical service in support of growth. This is especially challenging as CA transitions to more renewable energy sources & a robust Electric Vehicle infrastructure. This is a role for a strong engineer with technical skills and an innovative approach to controls, maintenance, contracts, and project management. Under the general direction of the Power Engineering Manager, the SEE is responsible for supervising planning for system maintenance. The SEE will demonstrate the highest professional ethics in working with others and ensure that all work practices and documentation are in compliance with existing and evolving industry, safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities: The SEE will communicate effectively in a timely manner. Act and follow up in real-time, balancing competing priorities. Work well in teams, helping communicate priorities and programs. Supervise & coordinate preparation of specifications for materials, equipment & construction projects. Supervise planning for system maintenance, development, & forecasting needed for power requirements and system modifications. Participate in technical committees with representatives from other utilities regarding safe work practices, industry & safety standards. Candidates should have a strong working knowledge of control systems in power plant distributed control systems & instrumentation and utilize engineering judgment in all phases of the planning, budgeting, scheduling, design, operation, & maintenance of an electric utility system. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or a related field. Six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience in electrical engineering in the electric utility field, of which at least three (3) years must have been in a supervisory capacity.
