Job Description: Management of environmental remediation projects and developing long-range remedial solutions to environmental and property assessments to reduce environmental risks and protect company assets. Senior Manager is responsible for the successful investigation, remedial project design, and implementation pursuant to regulatory agency and/or company direction on matters with significant legal and financial implications to the Company. This person will be responsible for the project management and oversight of: Responses and solutions related to CERCLA, RCRA corrective action, and hazardous waste treatment unit investigations, closures, and reporting with regulatory agencies and third parties to minimize regulatory impact and compliance issues. Remediation solutions that minimize regulatory impact and compliance related to development of real property. Management of a broad portfolio of corporate legacy sites in various stages of investigation and remediation as well as sites with multiple parties, cost allocations, and responsible party coordination committees including replacement water supply agreement negotiation and implementation. Negotiations with regulatory agencies and management of compliance with applicable orders, agency directives, and permits. Financial assurance obligations for portfolio of sites. Essential Functions: Manage projects to achieve cost and schedule commitment to Annual Plan using multidisciplinary team of internal/external professionals and contractors integrating responses with internal stakeholders including finance, legal, operations, and risk management. Prepare and maintain accurate financial documentation, including budget projections, environmental liability reserve amounts consistent with accounting guidance, including Sarbanes-Oxley, and development of project cost/benefit analyses to support business decisions. Work with other organization staff and management team to develop strategic direction for remediation and implementation of environmental-related projects and/or litigation support. Integrate and monitor internal and external SH&E programs and requirements into the remediation programs including job hazard analyses. Present technical information to public and regulatory agencies in writing and in public forums. Position will require up to 10% travel and management of environmental projects at multiple locations. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 12 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. Preferred Additional Skills: Demonstrated leadership and project management skills, including the ability to budget, plan, organize, coordinate, direct, and control the activities of the assigned organization for multiple projects at one time. Knowledge of environmental liability recognition and reporting requirements for publicly traded companies. Professional Engineer or Certified Professional Geologist designation desirable.
