ERG is seeking a motivated civil/environmental engineer with a passion for effecting change in the built environment. This position will provide on-site engineering and technical support in a dynamic team approach for a high-profile federal agency located in Arlington, VA, and will serve as a key member of the Stormwater and Construction Program Teams. Job Description: Supporting the implementation of a site’s stormwater management program Assisting with municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) permit compliance activities such as program document development, annual inspections, outreach events, and annual reporting Collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to ensure compliance with environmental requirements Providing technical oversight and coordination during the design, permitting, and construction phases of land-disturbing projects Participating in meetings with construction project stakeholders Supporting and tracking the design and implementation of construction and post-construction stormwater management practices Reviewing design and construction drawings to ensure compliance with permit, land development, and stormwater requirements Assessing and tracking progress towards Chesapeake Bay Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) requirements Developing technical briefings, reports, and memos to communicate status updates and program requirements Assisting with the development and synthesis of decision briefs for senior management Compiling and presenting information in response to data calls or requests for information Performing internal regulatory compliance assessments Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's or master’s degree in civil or environmental engineering or related disciplines Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) Minimum GPA of 3.0 (college transcripts required) Three to seven years of experience in stormwater management, land development, or construction project management Working knowledge of stormwater regulations, erosion, and sediment control, and post-construction stormwater management practices (including green infrastructure) Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse audiences Self-motivated, adaptive learner in a changing environment and able to prioritize multiple responsibilities Excellent attention to detail and critical thinking, and the ability to develop quality client-ready deliverables Strong team player and motivator with the ability to foster cooperation and make decisions with groups of government and consulting team members Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook Experience with advanced Excel functions, Excel macros, Access, or other data management software a plus Must be a U.S. Citizen An active security clearance is a plus Certification(s) as a Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector or Stormwater Management Inspector is a plus Salary: $80,000 - $90,000 a year ERG offers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, educational benefits, FSAs, a generous 401k plan, profit sharing, an EAP, 11-20 paid vacation days per year, 10 paid holidays per year, 56 hours or more of sick leave (based on the state you work in) per year (pro-rated for part-time) and more.
