Salary: $135,000 to $170,000 per year Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Formulate and execute reliability evaluations at the cell, module, and system levels for various lithium-ion battery applications, ensuring stringent adherence to quality and safety standards. Collaborate with product design teams to establish rigorous battery performance and reliability metrics. Acquire an in-depth knowledge of diverse battery chemistries to effectively judge their application suitability concerning reliability and field performance. Utilize statistical analysis and predictive modeling to identify trends and potential issues in battery performance, aiming for preemptive improvement measures. Drive the creation and maintenance of detailed, precise records of battery reliability data and manage multiple project timelines to meet strategic departmental goals. Investigate battery failure modes, pinpoint root causes, and implement tangible corrective actions to enhance reliability and efficiency. Leverage external resources to supplement internal capabilities, ensuring all delegate tasks align with overall project objectives. Minimum Position Qualifications: Master of Science Degree in Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field. At least 7 years of experience in a reliability engineering role focused on battery technologies, preferably in automotive or energy storage sectors. Demonstrated success in creating and leading battery reliability enhancement programs. Preferred Qualifications: PhD in Reliability Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering. Professional certification in Reliability Engineering. Hands-on experience in power electronics development and validation, particularly in renewable energy applications. Skills: Profound understanding of battery safety principles, cell chemistry, and environmental impacts on battery performance. Experience with various reliability failure modes specific to power electronics and the mechanisms by which they manifest. Proficient in the use of statistical tools for analyzing and interpreting performance data to form actionable insights. Sound knowledge of relevant testing standards such as IEEE, JEDEC, and IEC. Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex issues in a comprehensible manner to various stakeholders.
