Job Description Job Summary: The Senior Project Accountant collaborates closely with the other members of the Finance Team and the Company’s Project Managers. This includes managing the monthly project accounting cycle including revenue recognition and associated project costs, working closely with Segment Directors on forecasting, billing projections, and project profitability. This position will be required to perform a wide variety of project financial analysis work and provides opportunities for outstanding experience and exposure in different areas across the company. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Duties/Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with the Accounting Team and Project Managers. Manage the monthly project accounting cycle including revenue recognition and associated project costs. Work closely with Segment Directors on forecasting, billing projections, and project profitability. Manage monthly billing process for multiple segments. Produce monthly invoicing to clients. Align project budgetary information with contract terms. Maintain project-related data in the accounting system. Prepare schedules for clients as needed. Prepare analysis as needed for segment directors. Manage accounts receivables/collections for projects, including following up with clients as needed. Work in partnership with Practice Area leaders on forecasting, future billings, and profitability. Bring inconsistencies, problems, and recommendations to the Director of Finance’s attention. Assist the Director of Finance and the finance team in various tasks including audit-related, tax-related, and miscellaneous company reporting. Actively engage with the team regarding process improvements, assignments, and communications. Perform other duties as directed. Experience with Spectrum construction ERP software. Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science in accounting, finance, or related field. Five to Ten Years in a project accounting role. High level of communication skills, including providing customer service to clients. High proficiency with Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles. Working knowledge of accounting systems. Superior numeric skills. Analytical and problem-solving abilities. Exceptional organizational and follow-through skills. Ability to manage information with a high level of detail and accuracy. Self-motivated and ability to work independently, as well as part of a team. Proven ability to make and communicate decisions. Ability to occasionally travel. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization's facilities. Communicates with coworkers, third-party providers, and vendors. Must be able to adhere to standard operating procedures. Typical office environment.
