Responsibilities Under the general direction of the Carpentry Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for the full range of rough and finished skilled carpentry work. Utilizes carpentry skills to remodel, maintain, and repair various types of facilities, buildings, animal exhibits, decks, scaffolds, forms, frames, fences, and other structures. Responsible for completing assigned work orders and preventative maintenance within a timely manner. Inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulations. Estimates cost, time and materials for carpentry projects. Participates in the maintenance and operations of zoo exhibits and events. Maintains and services tools and equipment used in the performance of duties. Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Maintains a safe and clean work environment. Experience and Qualifications Must have a valid Texas driver’s license. High School diploma or GED.
