The Logistics Specialist (Shipping Clerk) is responsible for managing outbound shipment activities in a manner that shall meet business fulfillment requirements in parallel with the goal of transportation cost reduction and performance improvement. This position works directly on-site at the client’s facility, to maintain the flow of goods shipping out of the plant, ensuring that both internal and external customer demands are fulfilled timely, compliantly, and completely according to standard processes and client deliverables. This is a temporary role from June 2024 through December 13, 2024. Location: Jacksonville, FL 32221 (no remote, 100% on-site) Work Schedule: 40 hours, Monday-Friday (Some weekend / after-hours support / on-call rotation required) Work Hours: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Position/Classification: Salaried, TEMPORARY from June 2024 through December 13, 2024 Compensation: $47,000 Annually with weekend/after-hours bonus opportunities Physical Demands: Sitting, typing, walking all day, lifting up to 25 lbs. Required Experience and Education: Warehouse or shipping experience required SAP Experience preferred Forklift Certificate preferred and highly encouraged Ideal candidates will be able to: Resolve client and carrier issues with ease Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills Have high proficiency with Microsoft Excel Analyze data to improve processes within the warehouse Responsibilities: Route and track all outbound cargo in accordance with customer requirements, including parcel, LTL, FTL, Air, and Ocean cargo Provide contract or spot quote costs for outbound international and/or domestic orders Communicate with shippers, brokers, customers, etc. as needed to facilitate the routing process and minimize the risk of issues and delays Resolve international and domestic shipping issues and ensure appropriate client contacts are informed of any shipment issues Coordinate and support export documentation filing and processing as needed, such as for certificates of origin, customs invoices, packing lists, and AES fillings Interface regularly with client designated Logistics Execution Center (“LEC”) and use client designated TMS systems Review customer’s purchase order (“PO”) to ensure Incoterms are correct as well as end-user information, pricing, ship to, a bill to, etc. Verify all picks have the correct ship to, serial numbers (if needed), and shipment method; print packing slips as needed Send pre-alerts with all customs documents to the customer, client’s Customer Service Representative and/or Accounting as needed Coordinate with the customer’s freight forwarders to arrange to pick up of goods or to arrange other shipping instructions Close all shipments in SAP with tracking and/or freight cost Verify that all shipments scheduled for pickup have left the facility; report discrepancies Comply with agreed-upon document retention procedures Actively look for and capture savings and added-value opportunities when possible Coverage for each shift of the shipping department during service availability hours Support the training of new employees as needed Our clients range from small local businesses to Fortune 500 firms in industry sectors such as power generation and renewable energy, road construction equipment, electronics, industrial materials, heavy duty trucks, mining and drilling equipment, oil and gas, modular building, medical equipment, not for profit, and US government.
