Job DescriptionThis position is open to Alaska Residents only. Please check our residency definition to determine if you qualify. This position is being recruited for in Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla, Fairbanks, Juneau. Pay will be determined based on location of selected individual.Anchorage, Soldotna, Wasilla salary: $3,432.00Fairbanks salary: $3,535.20Juneau salary: $3,604.00What you will be doing:This position is the unit lead for Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA) Contaminated Lands and Brownfields programs within the Contaminated Sites Program. This position:
- Manages ~$2.5 million per year in federal funds,
- Leads a team conducting site verification, assessment, and cleanup of contaminated sites,
- Manages contractors,
- Travels throughout the state conducting field work and outreach,
- Presents at conferences and meetings, and
- Manages a team 8 professional staff.

The Contaminated Sites Program (CSP) mission is to protect human health and the environment by managing the cleanup of contaminated sites in Alaska.
This position manages the Brownfield Program and the ANCSA Contaminated Lands Program within the CSP. This position will play a critical role in providing site verification, assessment, and cleanup services for sites contaminated with hazardous substances across the state.

Special Notice:- 24-hour HAZWOPER training and annual refresher courses are required (can be obtained after hire)

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an environmental, physical, biological, or natural science; engineering; planning; or natural resources.
AND
Advanced professional experience in environmental regulation compliance, pollution control, environmental damage recovery, or programs to improve or protect environmental quality; or evaluating the potential environmental and socioeconomic impacts of construction projects; preparing environmental documentation; and determining, negotiating, and monitoring permitted activities.
