Job Responsibilities
The University Landscape Architect (ULA) oversees and directs all landscape and hardscape planning, design, and stewardship. for USC's urban campus in Columbia, SC. The ULA oversees the design review of all capital and renovation projects for suitability in addressing landscape impacts, including tree conservation, site protection and restoration. In addition, the ULA will support landscape planning and projects across the USC system, including seven satellite campuses across the state.

Minimum and Additional Requirements
Requires a bachelor's degree in a job related field and 3 or more years of job related experience, which may be substituted by an equivalent combination of job related certification, training, education, and/or experience.
Required Certifications:
Professional Registered Landscape Architect (RLA)
Preferred Qualifications
Masters in Landscape Architecture Degree (MLA). AICP and/or LEED certifications and 10 years work experience.
AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Office software systems. Arc GIS, Sketch-up, and Bluebeam preferred but not required. Prior experience working with facilities management staff is preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Extensive knowledge of the principles and practices of landscape architecture, planning, and general knowledge of site engineering principles. Ability to prepare graphic presentations. Skilled at producing, supervising, and reviewing landscape plans. Knowledgeable in reviewing civil and architectural plans. Ability to estimate cost for a broad range of site work projects. On-site construction management skills. Ability to establish positive working relationships with clients, superiors, subordinates, associates, A/E teams, contractors, state, local and federal professional personnel and other public and private sector organizations and individuals. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse university staff. Ability to problem-solve and utilize conscious decision-making. Ability to build teams and involve stakeholders.
