Requires Lifeguard Training and Water Safety Instructor certification through the American Red Cross. Certifications must be valid and current through August 31st. Applicants must be at least 17 years old or a high school senior and have prior lifeguarding experience. The position is eligible for up to 40 hours per week. Assigned work hours vary between 7:00 AM and 10:30 PM, including weekends and holidays. For positions requiring lifeguard certification, we provide your training.
Note: Hiring preference is given to applicants who can work consistently throughout the season.

All offers of employment are conditioned upon successfully passing a background check and drug screening.
- Responsible for the daily operation of the pool, the safety of all patrons, and supervising swim lessons and pool rentals.
- Ensure that students are taught according to the American Red Cross standards.
- Assist the Recreation and Aquatic Supervisor in leading in-services.
- Organize staff schedules. Verify and submit timesheets weekly.
- Enforce rules governing the conduct of persons at the swimming pool, warning patrons against hazardous practices.
- Recognize emergencies and react appropriately, quickly, and calmly.
- Supervise the cleaning of the pool facility.
- Perform water quality tests, record results, and report any water clarity problems and/or alarms to the Recreation & Aquatic Supervisor.
- Responsible for daily cash deposits off-site.
- Act as the primary contact at the Aquatic Center for swim lessons and questions about the aquatic center.
