Job Summary:The Senior Manager of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) is responsible for managing Client EHS compliance programs in accordance with all applicable state, federal, and corporate regulations. The role ensures the protection of Client employees, the environment, and minimizes company risks. This position also drives a culture of safety and sustainability across business units and provides leadership in developing and managing EHS programs to meet safety and environmental goals.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and continuously improve Client Health and Safety Programs in adherence to local, state, federal, and company requirements.
- Oversee a variety of safety programs, including but not limited to: Industrial Hygiene, Chemical Safety, Process Safety, Ergonomics, Hazard Communication, Biosafety, PPE, Hot Work, Control of Hazardous Energy, Confined Space, OSHA Recordkeeping, and others.
- Act as the Biological Safety Officer and manage Emergency Response teams, including the Emergency Evacuation Team.
- Manage and improve Client Environmental Programs, such as Air Emissions/Refrigeration Management, Wastewater Management, Waste Management, Environmental Remediation, and Community Right to Know Reporting.
- Foster a culture of safety and environmental stewardship within business units through outreach activities, messaging, and committee leadership.
- Develop and implement the EHS Management Systems for the Client site.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety and environmental performance.
- Partner with assigned business units to resolve EHS concerns, provide support, and communicate EHS matters.
- Participate in emergency response activities, lead inspections, and audits, and contribute to miscellaneous EHS tasks as needed.
Required Qualifications:- A minimum of 8-10 years' experience in EHS management at an operational facility, including at least 5 years of experience with technical subject matters as detailed in this job profile.
- Significant experience in managing and implementing EHS programs at operational sites.
- At least 4-6 years of experience leading projects.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Strong focus on customer service, teamwork, and leadership with influencing skills.
- Broad knowledge of EHS regulations and the development and implementation of EHS management systems.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory and legal requirements for managed programs.
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment, including participation in emergency response activities.
Preferred Qualifications:Certified Safety Professional (CSP).Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), or other relevant certifications.
Education:- Bachelor's degree required.
