As a Hardware Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining the cell-related success criteria and strategy for our B2B energy storage solutions (Megapack and Powerpack) across our three core segments: Utilities, Commercial & Industrial, and Microgrids. You will also leverage your expertise to develop market and product requirements needed to deliver industry-leading products. You will also be a key technical member of a cross-functional Product Management team that also supports the ongoing development of technical content for sales, finance, and engineering teams for Tesla's industrial energy products.
As a member of the Product Management team, you will be required to wear many hats and adapt to a fast-paced work environment. This is a multi-faceted role where strong knowledge of commercial and engineering (electrical, mechanical, systems) topics is a must, and energy and/or product management experience is highly desired. Responsibilities - Define cell-related success criteria for Tesla's Industrial Energy business
- Leverage market research, competitive diligence and customer feedback to define product vision and strategy
- Create business cases and market & product requirements to inform the product roadmap priorities
- Develop and drive implementation of technical content (technical documentation, marketing collateral, Independent Engineering reports) to provide internal and external parties with all information pertinent to our products and offerings
- Always look for opportunities to improve our processes and support our growth
Requirements - Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of experience in product management or in the energy industry, preferably in the energy storage technology space
- Expertise in techno-economic and energy market modeling is a plus
- An overall rock-solid blend of engineering (electrical, mechanical) and commercial expertise
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams
- Ability to execute many projects and tasks in parallel, across many teams, in a short timeframe, with demonstrated ability to pivot rapidly
- Knowledge of renewable energy policies and regulations is highly desired
- Deep passion for changing the way we use energy on the electric grid

$128,000 - $300,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
