THE POSITION Sr. Staff Industrial Engineer, Continental Tire The Americas, LLC, Sumter, SC: Design, develop, test, and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes (including human work factors, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis, production coordination and efficiency improvement). Monitor and analyze the production data at Hot Preparation area in order to control the results, drive the production department and improve the industrial production process and flow. Perform efficiency improvement gap analysis of target vs actual, conduct root-cause analysis on losses, TEEP and OEE tracking. Perform quality improvement by tracking the Workoff generation and driving the team with needed diagnostics. Conduct studies in Hot Preparation production processes, applying the industrial engineering methodologies, such as, time-motion studies, cycle time correlation in order to optimize the processes. Define the process area layout using software aimed at optimizing material flow shortening the travelled distance by the material handling. Optimize the flow of easily found cassettes to avoid machines and operators idle time. Engage in capacity calculation of Hot Preparation equipment in accordance to customer demand, and institute workshops to realize capacity gaps. Use lean tools improve efficiency and material flow. Responsible for headcount calculation planned vs actual, absenteeism cover, overtime, job rotation and multi skilling of operators. Engage in Continuous Improvement through operators performance tracking and evaluation using EWM to track material handlers efficiency, benchmarking with best practices, future expansion planning and roadmap automation, factory ergonomics, and incentive system. Full time employment, Monday Friday, 40 hours per week. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelors degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field and 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate, related work experience. Of the required experience, must have experience in all of the following: 5 years of experience in industrial engineering, including 1 year of engineering experience in a Hot Preparation Environment; 3 years of experience in plant expansion project planning; 2 years of experience using SAP Extended Warehouse Management (EWM) to analyze the material handlers efficiency solutions; 2 years of experience using Plant Simulation Software, to draw and optimize layout for lean flow; 2 years of leading efficiency enhancement projects with cross functional teams; and 1 year of experience using software to monitor the Hot Preparation process.
