As a member of Audubon’s Development team, the Manager, Canopy Program is responsible for managing all aspects outreach and engagement with our Canopy Program, including but not limited to webinars, and at least four annual trips across the United States to highlight birds and Audubon’s conservation programs, quarterly newsletters and more. The Canopy program consists of a community comprising dedicated bird lovers and conservationist donors who make an annual investment in the National Audubon Society. This position reports to the Senior Director, Events and Engagement Programs and works closely with other internal departments such as the Development Communications, Creative Department, Conservation, and Legal. This role can be hybrid out of our New York, NY or Washington, DC office. Compensation: Salary range based on geo-differentials: $ 75,500-$90,500 /year Washington, DC $ 83,500-$98,500 /year New York, NY Essential Functions Lead the planning and execution of an annual growth plan for the Canopy Program, cultivating new members and stewarding existing donors and prospects, including: Collaborate with relationship managers across the department to identify potential Canopy Program prospects. Work with our communications, conservation, and creative team members to create a quarterly newsletter. Create growth benchmarks and strategies in collaboration with development services. Create, manage, and collaborate on engagement and stewardship strategies for current and prospective Canopy members. Create communication templates for all Canopy related outreach requested from relationship managers. Lead the planning, management, and execution of an annual calendar of Canopy events for membership, including: Design and execute six curated experiences for Canopy members and prospects to experience the work of Audubon, that align with organizational priorities. Establish and maintain all logistics, flagging potential delays in a timely manner. Schedule logistics and communication meetings with colleagues across the network. Collaborate closely with the conservation leadership and staff on event logistics, staffing decisions, and content focus. Manage invitations, RSVP lists, and coordinate with development colleagues. Prepare all written communications and correspondence pertaining to Canopy event logistics and information for staff and guests. Coordinate with legal and finance on all contract and payment obligations. Manage relationships with hotels, restaurants, and other vendors, working closely with vendors on deadlines and requirements. Learn and stay abreast of current conservation priorities, milestones and organizational priorities. Oversee the development and frequent updating of the Canopy Program website and calendar. Other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications and Experience Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 years’ experience working with membership groups or giving circles. Professional, collaborative, and efficient approach to all aspects of the position; must be a team player. Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Zoom, and impeccable technical skills, including high-level comfort with event apps, sites, tools. Cvent certification preferred. Experience with Asana or similar project management software is required; demonstrated ability to stay abreast of time and effort enhancing tools. Knowledge of relevant digital programs preferred, including Slack. Excellent written and oral communication skills, research-savvy, and proficient in internet and resource usage. Keen eye for proofreading and a commitment to checking work. Extremely organized and detail-oriented approach to work with a commitment to excellence. Outstanding interpersonal skills, as this job requires frequent interaction with diverse individuals. Ability to create strong relationships, both inside and outside the organization, and represent the organization in the most effective and gracious manner.
