The Thermal Aero Engineer within the Research and Development team will be responsible for contributing to the detailed design and development of turbo machinery throughout the product development life cycle, from definition of the customer/product requirements to the product implementation and qualification phases. Job Responsibilities Thermal and Aero Modelling and testing of centrifugal compressor, electric motor, and power electronic system Compressor, electric motor, and power electronic thermal reliability test plan specification Overseeing and participating in compressor testing activities in the DTC laboratories Recommending compressor testing improvements in R&D lab Aero/thermal test data analyses and processing Summarizing compressor test results in reports for future reference Development of compressor performance range, maps, and rating programs (CPR) Performing thermal designs for new products Using CAD tools including main streamline software and CFD in design and evaluation To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education and/or Experience Masters or PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent 3 years of working experience in advanced fluid mechanics and heat transfer 3 years of working experience in thermal design and analyses Experience with commercial Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) code such as CFX, and NUMECA Experience with commercial stress analysis code such as Ansys Familiarity with CAD/CAE Strong team player with high focus on meeting deadlines and team objectives Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment Must be detail oriented and self-motivated Refrigeration system thermal cycle analysis experience is a plus.
