What impact you will have We are seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical/Electrical Engineer to join our data center design team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and implementation of mechanical and electrical systems that support a new generation of liquid cooled data center and AI factory operations. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal design, performance, reliability, and efficiency of our datacenter projects. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate consultancy experience. What you’ll do Design Development: Create detailed mechanical and electrical designs for data center systems, including HVAC, liquid cooling, power distribution, and lighting. System Integration: Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to ensure seamless integration of products, systems and adherence to project specifications. Load Calculations: Perform load analysis and calculations to determine power and cooling requirements for data center equipment. Standards Compliance: Ensure designs comply with industry standards, codes, and regulations, including ASHRAE, ISO/IEC, IEEE, NEC, and LEED. Project Management: Assist in project planning, scheduling, and budgeting, providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle. Vendor Coordination: Work with vendors and contractors to evaluate equipment options and ensure quality installation of systems. Performance Optimization: Conduct system performance evaluations and load testing during comissioning and recommend improvements to enhance energy efficiency and reliability. Documentation: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including design specifications, drawings, and technical reports. What you’ll need Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Experience: 5 years of experience in mechanical/electrical design, preferably in data centers or mission-critical facilities. Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP) and familiarity with HVAC and electrical distribution systems. Knowledge: Strong understanding of data center infrastructure, energy efficiency practices, and relevant industry standards. Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant certifications (e.g., LEED AP, PMP) is a plus. Standards: Experience on data center design standards, including: ASHRAE, IEEE, ISO.
