General Description: Wholesale employee or individual benefits sales position. Responsible for driving new business sales, retention, and growing existing client revenue. Manage client relationships and drive profitability, satisfaction, and organic growth. Includes cross-selling programs where applicable. Responsibilities: Develop strong relationships with new and existing brokers to ensure continued sales growth. Develop and execute sales business plan and use effective prospecting strategies. Generate new broker leads and first appointment activity. Engage in sales meetings on preparing for first appointments, advancing, closing, and retaining business. Demonstrate proficiency in sales due diligence and conceptual presentation. Understand and explain Emerson Rogers competitive products and services effectively. Collaborate with sales team to develop and support cross-sell strategies to enhance prospect and client relationships. Keep current on insurance, market, carrier, and product knowledge. Guide brokers through the complexities of health care reform. Build and maintain strong relationships with carriers. Demonstrate understanding of certification requirements and sales process when required in your specialized insurance markets. Maintain accurate records in the company’s customer relationship management (CRM) system. Includes completing tasks to track appointments and appropriately labeling broker opportunities. Assist account management team with servicing most important cases/clients. Includes additional lines of business sales, case conservation, and all renewal and service activities. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must hold a Life, Accident & Health insurance license. For Medicare, must be certified annually. Strong knowledge of Employee Benefits. Includes familiarity with products, services, competitive offerings, market needs, and industry trends. Comprehensive knowledge of your specialized insurance markets. Solid understanding of alternate funding arrangements. Includes full and partially insured, minimum premium, and self-insured. Demonstrated ability to sell new business and maintain positive broker relationships. Personable, highly motivated, and goal-oriented. Driven to achieve individual sales goals.
