The account manager supports accounts based on product and/or market segments and is seen as a sales business liaison, advocating for their customers internally while considering internal business goals. Responsibilities Develops and maintains customer relationships including responding to customer service needs, solicits new business to support sales plan objectives, manages the contracting process and communicates customer requirements and expectations. Track performance to account sales objectives and other metrics; identify and execute corrective actions and support continuous improvement efforts. As part of a cross-functional team of commercial, technical, and manufacturing experts, helps drive the organization to achieve strategic and tactical objectives related to profitability, volume requirements, pricing, quality, delivery, service, product development and early involvement and, when appropriate, supporting ArcelorMittal group objectives. Functions in a team environment providing backup support to team members and participates in projects and special assignments as required. Supports internal company goals including inventory management, payment performance and invoice payments/collections. Respond to customer service requests, including inquiries regarding products, product delivery, availability, order status. Negotiates day-to-day customer-related issues. Able to interact and influence the customer through the negotiation process on day-to-day items including, but not limited to claims, freight, etc. Identifies and communicates customer needs and performance; identifies actions necessary to meet customer requirements. Communicates all business/market/customer intelligence back into the sales organization. Annual business planning (ABP) & most recent forecast (MRF); and sales call planning. Perform customer and market analysis by understanding ArcelorMittal NA & competitor capabilities, drivers, price trends, performance, and structures, as well as non-price competitive factors in customer markets. Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s Degree At least 1 - 3 years of steel experience; Customer service, order management, pricing, selling in steel industry markets experience preferred Ability and willingness to travel (aprox 60%) Intermediate skills with Microsoft Suite Must have strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work and manage through non-traditional work schedules.
