Job Summary Responsible for the oversight of a team of Construction Project Managers and coordinates campus-wide design and construction projects. This position is essential for ensuring project alignment with key campus partners and creating efficiencies across multiple fiscal years. Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Oversees and is responsible for the leadership of a professional team of design and construction project managers to ensure quality KSU projects are completed on time and on budget. 2. Hires, trains, evaluates, and develops project management staff. 3. Implements change management practices to encourage consistent project management methodologies. 4. Responsible for developing and implementing industry best practice processes and procedures to ensure best value for KSU and adherence to state and Board of Regents standards and requirements. 5. Aggregates project metrics for comprehensive reporting on budget and schedules. 6. Acts as a liaison between project teams and campus partners, including divisional partners, legal, public safety, and others. 7. Oversees the selection, contracting, and management of General Contractors and Architects. Reviews construction contracts and participates in contract development and negotiations. 8. Ensures adherence to university design and construction standards and Board of Regents standards. Reviews and approves exceptions or adjustments to these standards. 9. Continuously develops and improves project scheduling, budgeting, and record-keeping systems. Oversee project close-out procedures and ensure proper handover to Maintenance and Operations and other facility owners. 10. Maintains positive relationships with external design and construction communities to facilitate consultant and contractor selection. 11. Develop and manage communication protocols for all project stakeholders, including university senior leadership, primary project clients, and community members. Required Qualifications Educational Requirements Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a related field. Required Experience Seven (7) years of relevant experience Previous experience managing teams Experience and demonstrated familiarity with various construction delivery methods Preferred Qualifications Additional Preferred Qualifications Professional certifications (e.g. LEED AP, P.E., AIA, PMP, etc) Preferred Educational Qualifications An advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education Preferred Experience Previous experience in higher education and/or research laboratory construction Experience working within the University System of Georgia Proposed Salary The budgeted salary range is $116,740 to $118,000.
