Global Payments Inc., is seeking a Director of Environmental Sustainability to join our Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Organization. The company is initiating an Environmental Sustainability team, which will be responsible for guiding the Company's strategic sustainability initiatives, gathering metrics, and measuring risks related to ESG-related compliance. Reporting to the Vice President of Enterprise Risk Management, this position will oversee and drive all aspects of the Environmental Sustainability program, including leading a team of risk professionals, ensuring effective monitoring of relevant risk and control processes, leading analysis of sustainability risk exposure, partnering with business leaders to ensure obligations are fulfilled, supporting internal and external assessments, and reporting on identified risks and results. The Director will foster an open and honest risk-focused culture across the company and its affiliates and ensure timely reporting and escalation of sustainability risks and, in turn, fulfillment of compliance obligations. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain Environmental Sustainability risk policies, standards, and programs based on global regulatory and industry guidelines, requirements, and best practices. Evaluate changes to requirements and best practices to appropriately incorporate into policies, standards, and programs. Assess, monitor and verify its compliance within business processes.
- Control, manage, and execute second-line-of-defense risk governance activities across the company. Administer an established and centralized information repository related to environmental sustainability, including requirements, metrics and key risk indicators. Monitor significant risks to ensure they are actively managed and reported.
- Establish and cultivate a strong working relationship with various first-, second-, and third-line risk teams to ensure a consistent approach to environmental sustainability, in accordance with the company's ESG strategy, risk appetite, and tolerances.
- Direct the collection, validation, and calculation of data from program stakeholders to support global reporting requirements.
- Direct the development of delivery and response to complex external stakeholder inquiries and requests to ensure positive outcomes. Act as main contact for audit teams, assess and challenge scope, control delivery of pre-audit requests, and manage post-audit responses. Brief executives of audit outcomes.
- Develop and present effective senior leadership, executive, and Board of Director risk and compliance reporting that assists in risk-based decision making and meets regulatory requirements.
- Set the day-to-day priorities for the Environmental Sustainability team in alignment with organizational goals and objectives. Identify team member development needs and enable career growth and capability expansion. Conduct regular performance discussions with direct reports to provide timely feedback

Qualifications:- Experience/Education: Working knowledge of industry rules and regulations. Position utilizes knowledge typically associated with a four-year degree or a combination of formal training and relevant work experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a risk management, compliance, audit, legal, or similar role
- Minimum of 5-6 years experience in a managerial position, managing work assignments, monitoring performance and coaching team members.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline from an accredited university
- Skills/Aptitudes: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Effective use of collaborative technologies (Google Workspace, Office 365); strong organization and prioritization skills; initiative and ability to work independently; Ability to balance deadlines with changing priorities
