We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Sales Director to join our team and drive growth in our Functional Materials and Recycling business unit.
Position Overview:
The Director of Sales Recycling & Functional Materials will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic sales plans to promote the sale and recycling of minor metals and compound materials. This role requires a deep understanding of the metals market, a proven track record in sales leadership, and a commitment to sustainability practices. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent business acumen, and the ability to foster lasting relationships with clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Sales Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to achieve revenue and market share goals for minor/rare metals and compound materials.
- Identify new market opportunities and drive business expansion efforts.
- Lead the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets through effective management and motivational leadership.
- Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing key accounts.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by addressing client needs and resolving issues promptly.
- Conduct regular client meetings and business reviews to assess satisfaction and uncover additional sales opportunities.
- Market Analysis & Business Development:
- Conduct market research to keep management informed of industry trends, competitive landscape, and potential threats or opportunities.
- Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential clients and projects.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to create compelling sales materials and campaigns.
- Recycling Initiatives:
- Work with the sales and operations teams to secure spot and long-term contracts for EOL, waste, scrap, or other minor/rare metal containing recycling streams
- Promote the benefits of recycling to clients and stakeholders, positioning the company as a leader in sustainable practices.
- Team Leadership & Development:
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team.
- Set clear performance objectives and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Master's degree or MBA is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in sales, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record in the metals industry, specifically in minor metals and compound materials.
- Experience with recycling programs and sustainability initiatives is highly desirable.

- Strong understanding of the minor metals market and recycling processes.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
